Jessa Duggar Seewald, a television personality known for appearing on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, welcomed her sixth child, a son named Edward, in August 2025, according to reports.

Born Jessa Lauren Duggar on November 4, 1992, in Tontitown, Arkansas, she is the fifth child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s nineteen children. She first gained public recognition through the 2004 documentary 14 Children and Pregnant Again, which chronicled her family’s life. This was followed by further documentaries, Raising 16 Children in 2006 and On the Road with 16 Children, detailing a family road trip.

Seewald’s courtship with Ben Seewald began in 2013, a process her father, Jim Bob Duggar, described to People magazine as “getting to know each other in a group setting, both families spending time together and the couple setting goals together to determine if they are meant to marry.” This contrasted with traditional dating, which Duggar characterized as potentially leading to a more physical relationship. Ben Seewald proposed to Jessa in August 2014, marking their first time holding hands as a couple. They married on November 1, 2014.

The cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting in 2015, following scandals involving her brother Josh Duggar, led to the creation of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which later evolved into Counting On, featuring other members of the Duggar family. The latter series was ultimately cancelled in 2021, also due to legal issues involving Josh Duggar.

Jessa and Ben Seewald’s children include Spurgeon, born November 5, 2015; Henry, born February 6, 2017; Ivy Jane, born May 28, 2019; Fern, born in July 2021; George, born in December 2023 and Edward, born in August 2025. In February 2023, Jessa Seewald publicly shared that she had experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holiday season.

Jim Bob Duggar, Jessa’s father, made a rare public appearance in August 2025 to meet his newest grandson, Edward, according to People magazine.

Alongside her television appearances, Jessa Seewald co-authored the book Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships with her sisters Jana, Jill, and Jinger, published in 2014.
