Jeremy Strong Eyed for Zuckerberg Role in “The Social Network Part II“
Hollywood is buzzing with the news that Jeremy Strong,renowned for his intense method acting,is reportedly the frontrunner too portray Meta CEO mark Zuckerberg in the highly anticipated sequel to “The Social Network.”
Sources close to the production, as reported by Deadline, indicate that while no formal offer has been extended, negotiations are actively underway for the “Succession” star to step into the shoes of the controversial tech mogul. Strong, celebrated for his immersive portrayal of Kendall Roy in the acclaimed HBO drama, is known for his dedication to staying in character, a trait that seemingly aligns with the vision of screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who is also set to direct the follow-up film.
The sequel, tentatively titled “The Social Network Part II,” is expected to diverge from the narrative of the original 2010 film, which saw Jesse Eisenberg earn an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Zuckerberg. Instead of chronicling the intervening years since Facebook’s inception, the new film is slated to focus on the fallout from the Wall Street Journal‘s 2021 exposé by Jeff Horowitz. This groundbreaking report, which detailed meaningful information concerning Meta’s practices, ultimately led to congressional hearings.
Along with Strong’s potential casting, Deadline also suggests that other notable talents are being considered for undisclosed roles. Jeremy Allen White, star of the FX hit “The Bear,” and Oscar-winning actress Mikey madison, recognized for her performance in “Anora,” are reportedly in contention.
