Jean-Jacques goldman Pens Moving Message Ahead of france’s November 11th Commemorations
PARIS – Celebrated French singer-songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman has released a handwritten letter timed to coincide with the November 11th commemorations, expressing gratitude to France‘s armed forces, security personnel, and veterans. The message, revealed Tuesday by franceinfo, will accompany a new clip released by Bleuet de France, the national veterans’ association celebrating its centennial year.
Goldman’s letter arrives as France, and the world, grapple with ongoing conflicts and heightened security concerns, underscoring the enduring relevance of remembrance. The message directly supports Bleuet de France’s mission to aid veterans, their families, and victims of terrorism – a cause Goldman says he is “happy and proud” to champion. The singer, a 14-time favorite personality of the French public, previously performed his song “we will be there” during the July 14th Bastille day ceremony.
“no peace without a guard, nor freedom without a soldier. We may have tended to forget it, but the news reminds us dramatically every day,” Goldman wrote. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by those who defend france, stating,”It seemed crucial to me to show our gratitude to our armies, its wounded and more generally to all the security forces who protect us on a daily basis.”
Founded a century ago, Le Bleuet de France provides crucial support to those who have served and their loved ones. Goldman concluded his letter affirming his support for the organization, stating, ”I am happy and proud to be able to help Bleuet de France, which supports those who protect us and their families.”
