Jarry Reveals Harrowing Kidnapping Ordeal as a Young Man,Confrontation Involved Father with Rifle
French humorist jarry recounted a terrifying experience from his youth on the program Everyone Wants to Take Their Place,revealing he was forcibly held captive by the father of a friend. The incident, initially presented as a potential fabrication for the show’s “true or false” format, proved to be a chillingly real event that left him fearing for his life.
the ordeal unfolded when Jarry, then 21, accompanied a heavily intoxicated 16-year-old friend home one evening. Upon arriving at the friend’s house around 1 a.m., Jarry was met by the friend’s father, who was also intoxicated. After informing the father he was simply bringing his son home, Jarry was promptly confronted with hostility. “What did you do to my son?“ the father allegedly demanded before physically assaulting Jarry, grabbing him by the collar and locking him in a room.
Jarry described being trapped for approximately 30-40 minutes, without a mobile phone, and deeply frightened. He recounted overhearing the friend’s mother attempting to reason with her husband, fearing a further escalation. “I hear her say that they sleep their son and that after he will come and put a root me. It was hyperchaud,” Jarry stated, using a French expression to convey intense heat and stress.
Fortunately, the friend’s mother managed to unlock the room, allowing Jarry to escape.He then contacted his father, a hunter who was still alive at the time, and together they returned to the house. Jarry described a tense confrontation where his father immediately brandished a rifle, causing the aggressor to quickly back down.”He said to me: ‘We go back.’ We came back, It was 2 am, my father [pointed it with the rifle] the other he designed in 2 seconds… sometimes we want to help peopel and it can turn against us…” Jarry concluded, reflecting on the dangerous situation and the unexpected outcome.
