Jarir Marketing Q1 2026 Profit Hits SAR 253.5 Million Amid E-Commerce Surge

August 26, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Jarir Marketing Company posted a net profit of SAR 253.5 million for the first quarter of 2026, driven by robust consumer demand, improved cost discipline, and digital channel expansion that pushed e-commerce sales past 30 percent of total revenues.

The Saudi retail chain navigated early-year economic friction by executing a deliberate inventory strategy. In December 2025, leadership ramped up stock acquisition ahead of anticipated supplier price increases. According to Chairman Muhammad Alagil, that tactical move secured sufficient merchandise during ongoing global supply chain disruptions and proved directly instrumental to first-quarter sales performance.

Financial Performance and Cost Control Mechanics

Revenues expanded alongside tighter operational controls, keeping expense growth below sales velocity. Advertising expenditures decreased during the period. Meanwhile, strong internal cash flow reduced financing costs across the balance sheet.

Consumer spending patterns in the Kingdom remained supportive through the first three months of the year. Installment sales stayed robust, led by strong contributions from electronics and school supplies.

Digital Transformation and Omnichannel Scaling

E-commerce revenue crossed a critical threshold in the opening quarter, exceeding 30 percent of total sales. This milestone validates years of continuous platform investment and mirrors shifting consumer habits across the Gulf region. The operational boundary between physical storefronts and digital shopping carts continues to compress.

Physical expansion runs parallel to this digital push. Jarir plans to open seven new stores throughout 2026. Five locations are scheduled across Saudi Arabian cities—including Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah—while two outlets are slated for Kuwait. These additions will expand the footprint beyond the 59 stores currently operating in Saudi Arabia and more than 60 locations across the Gulf.

Outlook and Regional Growth Trajectory

Chairman Alagil expressed a constructive outlook for the second quarter, noting that macroeconomic conditions in the Kingdom remain favorable despite persistent global supply headwinds.
