Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua Fight: Rules and Weight Agreement Confirmed
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – November 22, 2025 – The highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua is officially set with specific rules and a weight limit agreed upon, promoters have confirmed. The bout, scheduled to take place before Christmas, will be contested under professional boxing rules, with 10-ounce gloves and three-minute rounds.
Eddie Hearn, Chairman of Matchroom Sport, emphasized the seriousness with which Joshua is approaching the fight, stating, “You can’t hold back. You train yourself to go in and destroy it…We’re going in to eat and to hunt. And as soon as he gets anywhere near him, as soon as he gets the prospect, he’s unloading everything on his chin.”
A key point of negotiation was the weight limit. Joshua will reportedly cut down to 245 pounds, a weight he hasn’t been sence his August 2022 rematch with Oleksandr Usyk where he weighed 244.5 pounds. While Paul’s cruiserweight background presents a stylistic challenge, Hearn dismissed any notion of Joshua altering his aggressive approach. “they never asked for anything different. And we wouldn’t have accepted anything different,” Hearn said regarding the fight stipulations.
The matchup has garnered significant attention due to the contrasting backgrounds and notoriety of both fighters.Despite the potential for an upset, the size and experience advantage held by Joshua are expected to be decisive factors.
