Jaime Pressly Calls ‘Mom’ Co-Stars an ‘Incredible Cast of Women
Jaime Pressly described her former “Mom” co-stars as an “incredible cast of women” following comments made by Chuck Lorre regarding original star Anna Faris, thewrap.com reported.
The remarks emerged after the release of Lorre’s memoir, Sitcom. In the book, Lorre wrote that he had initially been reluctant to cast Faris in the CBS comedy. He added that his reservations were confirmed when Faris exited the series in 2020 after seven seasons. Lorre stated in the memoir that he initially said no because he was unsure if Faris would be appropriate for the material, noting he thought about how badly he’d bungled his working relationship with Charlie Sheen. He further wrote that Faris left the show after six years for reasons that were not mysterious to anyone on the show.
Pressly Reflects on Seven Seasons on the Set
Pressly joined the cast of “Mom” during its second season, which premiered in October 2014, playing the wealthy, self-absorbed divorcee and recovering alcoholic Jill Kendall. She was promoted to series regular for Season 3 in 2015.
Reflecting on her time on the series in an interview published Saturday by E! News, Pressly said she spent seven years on the show across its eight total seasons. She credited the crew and her female co-stars, describing them as beautifully flawed as our characters on the show were. Pressly added that she enjoyed going to work with girlfriends every day.
Faris Responds to the Memoir Remarks
Faris addressed Lorre’s comments on Instagram on Thursday. She wrote that she did not see the remarks coming and admitted that the statements hurt. She noted that Lorre gave her a job she loved and that she never took a day of the seven years for granted. Faris expressed pride in the work they created together and stated that her gratitude for those years remains unchanged.

In her social media post, Faris also shared that she has been sober for a year and a half. She wrote that she was on a show about recovery and then she lived it.
“Mom” continued for one more season without Faris before ending with Season 8 in 2021.
