Two Decades After SuperStar,Petr Bende Reflects on Life’s Unexpected Turns
Twenty years after captivating the nation on the inaugural season of Česká SuperStar,singer Petr Bende says the transition from village life to national fame was a profound shift.Bende, now a seasoned performer with a diverse career spanning concerts, film scores, and television appearances, recently discussed the impact of the competition and his current projects in an interview with Deník.
The experience launched Bende into a world far removed from his upbringing, a change he acknowledges was significant. Beyond his musical endeavors, Bende shared insights into his family life, revealing his partner is an oboist in a philharmonic orchestra and noting his children’s varied interests – from hockey and swimming to a budding appreciation for music. He also highlighted his involvement in the upcoming Czech Television Christmas fairy tale, The Biggest Miracle, where he performs the Czech-language version of the theme song originally sung by Peter Cmorík in Slovakia.
Bende is currently preparing for a series of December concerts, including performances in Zlín (December 7), Krnov (December 10), Prague (December 11), Polná (December 13), Valašské Klobouky (December 14), Veselí nad Moravou (December 16), Moravský Žižkov (December 17), and Třebíč (December 18). He also anticipates a Czech Television broadcast dedicated to the late composer Petr Novák, featuring a music documentary interwoven with recollections from his colleagues in George and Beatovens.
