Cooler Temperatures Today Offer Brief Respite Before Return to 90s
A break from the recent heat is underway, with mostly cloudy skies expected to keep temperatures slightly cooler today. However, this relief is temporary,as a warming trend will quickly push temperatures back into the 90s by the end of the week.
The shift in weather patterns impacts everyone from outdoor workers and athletes to those planning weekend activities. While today’s high will reach around 83 degrees with lower humidity, temperatures will steadily climb, peaking possibly at 90 degrees on Friday. The uncertainty surrounding a weekend cold front adds another layer of complexity, with the possibility of scattered showers and storms.
Here’s a detailed look at the forecast:
Tonight, skies will become partly cloudy as temperatures cool to a low of 62 degrees. Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, with highs reaching 85 degrees – 10 degrees above average. Thursday will be mostly sunny and very warm, with a high of 88 degrees.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny and even warmer, potentially reaching 90 degrees, accompanied by a southerly wind. Friday night football games will kick off in the mid-80s and remain warm, cooling onyl to around 80 degrees by the end of the games.
The weekend forecast remains uncertain. Currently, the cold front is expected to remain northwest of the area on Saturday, resulting in partly cloudy, breezy, and warm conditions with highs in the upper 80s. However, an earlier arrival of the front could bring a chance of rain and cooler temperatures.
Sunday is more likely to see the arrival of the cold front, bringing scattered rain and storms, potentially affecting about half of the area. Highs will be in the mid-80s for areas that remain dry. Following the front, temperatures are expected to drop into the 70s starting Monday.
