Interpol Debut New Song ‘See Out Loud’ During World Tour | 2024 Updates

Interpol debuted a new, unreleased track, “Spot Out Loud,” during a performance at Audio in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 19th, offering fans the first preview of music since their 2022 album, The Other Side of Make-Believe.

The song’s performance featured a distinct shift in vocal duties, with guitarist Daniel Kessler taking the lead during a synth-heavy passage before Paul Banks, Interpol’s primary vocalist, resumed for a more forceful instrumental build. Kessler, born in London in 1974, joined the New York City-based band after approaching Carlos Dengler while both attended New York University, according to background information on the band’s formation.

The band is currently touring with Chris Broome of The Armed filling in on drums, following Sam Fogarino’s decision to step back from touring due to spinal surgery in 2023. Fogarino, a member of Interpol since 2000, has reportedly contributed to the writing of the forthcoming album despite his absence from the road.

Interpol’s touring schedule continues with a series of dates supporting Deftones in Australia and New Zealand in May. They are also slated to share the stage with My Chemical Romance at a festival in Italy, and will appear at All Points East x Outbreak in London on August 23rd, again alongside Deftones. Later in the year, the band will co-headline a UK and European tour with Bloc Party, including two performances at the British Airways ARC venue in London.

Kessler’s early involvement in the music industry included work with Domino Recording Company, experience he leveraged to help establish Interpol in their early years. He is a graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, focusing on French, film, and literature.
