Inter Milan Eye Curtis Jones & Giovani Lo Celso from Liverpool

Inter Milan is again pursuing Liverpool midfielders Curtis Jones and defender Giovanni Leone, according to reports from the Italian press. The Serie A club, fresh off a Champions League qualifying defeat, is planning a summer overhaul of its squad.

Corriere dello Sport reported that Inter will revisit its interest in Jones during the summer transfer window, having previously failed to secure his signature in the recent winter mercato. The potential move was reportedly contingent on the departure of Davide Frattesi, but both players remained with their respective clubs.

Inter’s require for midfield reinforcements has been amplified by the impending end of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract, with the Armenian potentially retiring at the end of the season. Hakan Çalhanoğlu also remains a target for his former club Galatasaray, while Nicolò Barella’s future at Inter is also uncertain, potentially forcing a restructuring of the midfield.

The Italian club is also showing renewed interest in Leone, who joined Liverpool last summer for €35 million. However, the young defender’s start to life at Anfield has been hampered by a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in his first start for the club. He has played only 81 minutes this season.

Corriere dello Sport suggests Liverpool may consider loaning Leone next season to provide him with regular playing time. Inter previously saw Leone shine with Parma in Serie A before his move to England.

Inter Milan were eliminated from the Champions League qualifying rounds after losing 2-1 to Bodø/Glimt of Norway in the return leg of the playoff, following a 3-1 defeat in the first leg.
