Kansas Woman Receives Probation for Insurance Fraud Scheme
TOPEKA, KS – A Kansas woman has been placed on probation after pleading guilty to insurance fraud, the kansas Insurance Department announced today. Kenna Robinson, 50, of Douglas County, was sentenced on August 28th to 12 months of probation, with a potential ten-month prison term if the terms of her probation are violated.
The case, investigated by the Kansas Department of Insurance and prosecuted by the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, centered on a scheme involving false information submitted to an insurance company during the claims process. Robinson pleaded guilty to one felony count of insurance fraud, acknowledging her involvement in the coordinated effort to obtain insurance coverage after an incident. this sentencing follows previous convictions in the same case, with Michaela Foster and Rylie Kelley sentenced in December 2024 for their participation.
Insurance fraud impacts all Kansas residents through increased insurance premiums, according to Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt. “The Department will continue pursuing penalties against anyone committing insurance fraud in Kansas,” Schmidt stated.
The investigation revealed Robinson collaborated with others to misrepresent facts related to an insurance claim. Details of the original incident prompting the claim were not disclosed.
