Instagram Now Lets Account Owners Pin Their Own Comments
Instagram has rolled out a new feature allowing account owners to pin their own comments on posts, a change responding to user feedback and requests. The update, announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri via his regular question-and-answer sessions with followers, provides a way to add context, additional information, or updates directly within the comments section.
While seemingly minor, the ability to pin self-authored comments adds value to content by allowing creators to highlight key details or address frequently asked questions. As reported by Social Media Today on September 8, 2025, this feature doesn’t allow for sharing links within the pinned comment; interaction remains limited to text, emojis, and GIF video formats.
Users who haven’t received the update can find it by updating their Instagram request through the Google Play Store for Android or the Apple App Store for iOS.
