INE Restores Online Services & Appointment System | No Data Breach

February 11, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE) restored full functionality to its online citizen communication systems and appointment scheduling program on Tuesday, February 10th, following a temporary service interruption. The disruption, which affected the portal’s ability to display a catalog of federal entities within the appointment generation form, caused confusion among citizens attempting to access services, according to a statement released by the INE.

The INE confirmed that the incident did not compromise the security of citizens’ personal information or the integrity of its institutional databases. Technical teams activated monitoring and contingency protocols, stabilizing the service and reinforcing infrastructure to prevent future disruptions. The system is now operating normally, with full functionality progressively restored.

The Directorate Executive of Administration (DEA) and the Technical Unit of Information Services (UTSI) identified the issue as affecting a consultation service that feeds the appointment scheduling form. The INE recommends users experiencing difficulties attempt access again after a few minutes or utilize updated web browsers.

The restoration of services comes as the INE prepares for the Coahuila state elections scheduled for June 7, 2026. The INE reiterated its commitment to providing reliable, secure, and available digital services, particularly during this critical preparation phase.
