Indiana vs Illinois Basketball Game Video to Resolve Market Dispute

Illinois defeated Indiana 71-51 in a Big Ten men’s basketball game Sunday at State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois, extending Illinois’s record to 20-5 overall and 11-3 in conference play. The Hoosiers fell to 17-9 on the season and 8-7 in the Big Ten.

The Fighting Illini, ranked No. 8, controlled the game from the outset, leading by 12 at halftime, 38-31. Illinois’s dominance on the boards proved crucial, finishing with a +13 rebounding advantage and 15 offensive rebounds, allowing them to attempt 17 more shots than Indiana. Illinois committed only two turnovers in the entire game.

David Mirkovic led Illinois with 25 points and 7 rebounds, while Keaton Wagler added 18 points. For Indiana, Lamar Wilkerson scored 21 points, with Sam Alexis contributing 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Tucker DeVries adding 13. Even though, Indiana struggled from three-point range, shooting just 6-of-24.

The game saw a scoring surge from Illinois in the second half, widening the gap as they outpaced Indiana 33-20 after the break. Indiana’s Tomislav Ivisic scored the first points of the second half, but Indiana committed three turnovers early in the half after only two in the first.

As of 3:15 PM Central Time, Illinois led 66-48, with the rebounding disparity continuing to favor the Illini, 11-0 overall and 14-4 in offensive rebounds. Earlier in the second half, Illinois held a 58-43 lead with 6:58 remaining, with Mirkovic at 19 points and Wagler at 16 for Illinois, and Wilkerson at 21 and DeVries at 10 for Indiana.

Indiana will next travel to Purdue for a game on Friday. Illinois is favored by 10.5 points in the matchup, with the over/under set at 151.5 points, according to FOX Sports. The implied score based on the spread and over/under is Illinois 81, Indiana 70. Betting markets give Illinois an 86.4% chance of winning, while Indiana has an 18.5% implied probability of victory.
