In turbulent global economy, FM Sitharaman says India’s growth resilience remains intact

India Demonstrates‍ Resilience Amidst Shifting Global Alliances: FM Sitharaman

New Delhi, October 3, 2025 – Finance‌ Minister Nirmala‍ Sitharaman highlighted India’s economic ‌resilience and⁤ evolving leverage as global alliances ⁤are reshaped and new coalitions emerge, speaking at a conclave themed “Seeking ‌Prosperity in Turbulent times.”

According to reports, Sitharaman noted the current geopolitical landscape is marked by ⁣testing of established ⁣alliances and the formation of new partnerships. She emphasized that India possesses “both‍ vulnerability ‌and resilience,” stating, “Our ​capacity to absorb shocks is strong, while our economic leverage ⁢is evolving.​ Our ⁤choices ‍will determine ⁤whether resilience⁣ becomes a‌ foundation ⁢for leadership⁣ or merely a⁤ buffer against uncertainty.”

The conclave, which began today, has​ attracted over 75 participants from more than 30 countries. It is​ indeed scheduled to conclude on October 5th with a ​session featuring union Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar, who will share his perspectives on India’s foreign⁤ and economic policy.

The⁣ event underscores the growing importance of navigating economic⁣ challenges in a rapidly changing world, and positions India as a key player capable⁢ of adapting and potentially leading in these turbulent times.
