India Demonstrates Resilience Amidst Shifting Global Alliances: FM Sitharaman
New Delhi, October 3, 2025 – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted India’s economic resilience and evolving leverage as global alliances are reshaped and new coalitions emerge, speaking at a conclave themed “Seeking Prosperity in Turbulent times.”
According to reports, Sitharaman noted the current geopolitical landscape is marked by testing of established alliances and the formation of new partnerships. She emphasized that India possesses “both vulnerability and resilience,” stating, “Our capacity to absorb shocks is strong, while our economic leverage is evolving. Our choices will determine whether resilience becomes a foundation for leadership or merely a buffer against uncertainty.”
The conclave, which began today, has attracted over 75 participants from more than 30 countries. It is indeed scheduled to conclude on October 5th with a session featuring union Minister for External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar, who will share his perspectives on India’s foreign and economic policy.
The event underscores the growing importance of navigating economic challenges in a rapidly changing world, and positions India as a key player capable of adapting and potentially leading in these turbulent times.
