Illegal Poker Game Raided in Turin: 7 Denounced | ANSA
Police raided an illegal poker game operating out of the basement of a bar in the Borgo Vittoria neighborhood of Turin, Italy, on February 7th, 2026. Seven individuals were found participating in a Texas Hold’em tournament, with one man acting as the croupier.
The operation, carried out by Turin police, followed a period of surveillance triggered by increased foot traffic to and from the bar, according to reports. Inside the basement, officers discovered a dedicated gaming room complete with a poker table and playing chips. A 70-year-aged man, identified as the organizer of the game, was found with a box of chips detailing their values, as well as a notebook containing the names and aliases of players and the amounts required for participation.
During the search of the premises, authorities seized several thousand euros in cash, a blank-firing pistol, and an air compression pistol. Both the 70-year-old croupier and the husband of the bar’s owner were denounced for facilitating illegal gambling and participating in the tournament, according to police statements.
The bar itself, along with the gaming tables, chips, and seven decks of cards, has been placed under seizure. The investigation is ongoing.
