Thirty-two teams secured regional championships Saturday night, advancing in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) girls basketball state tournament, according to reports from Indianapolis area news outlets.
The regional winners will now compete in semi-state matchups, with the ultimate goal of reaching the state championship games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Admission to the state finals is $20 per person, with reserved seating for either the morning or evening session.
The early session on February 28th will feature the Class 1A and 2A state championship games, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time. The second session, starting at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, will showcase the Class 3A title game followed immediately by the Class 4A championship.
Among the teams celebrating regional victories were Bremen (Class 2A), Crown Point (Class 4A), Monroe Central (Class 1A), Oak Hill (Class 2A), Fremont (Class 1A), Northridge (Class 4A), Bellmont (Class 3A), Norwell (Class 4A), Fairfield (Class 3A), Culver Academies (Class 3A), Lapel (Class 2A), Connersville (Class 3A), Elkhart Christian (Class 1A), Whitko (Class 2A), North Miami (Class 1A), McCutcheon (Class 4A), Heritage Christian (Class 2A), Center Grove (Class 4A), Evansville Reitz (Class 4A), Roncalli (Class 3A), Lawrence Central (Class 4A), Eastern (Pekin) (Class 2A), Jennings County (Class 3A), Parke Heritage (Class 2A), Northview (Class 3A), North Knox (Class 2A), Washington (Class 3A), Greenwood Christian (Class 1A), Tindley (Class 1A), Evansville Christian (Class 1A) and Borden (Class 1A).
Detailed scores from the Northern and Southern regional hosts were released Saturday night. Notable results included Bremen defeating Andrean 61-32 in Class 2A, Crown Point’s 54-45 victory over Penn in Class 4A, and a narrow 50-49 win for Floyd Central over Bloomington South in Class 4A. Washington secured a 47-43 overtime victory against Evansville Central in Class 3A. Tindley defeated Trinity Lutheran 46-44 in a three-overtime thriller in Class 1A.
The IHSAA is also celebrating 50 years of hosting the girls state finals championships.
