ICE Allegedly Uses Children as Bait: No Moral Defense

February 2, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Immigration adn Customs enforcement (ICE) faces disturbing accusations regarding its ⁤tactics during recent enforcement actions in⁣ the Minneapolis–St. ⁢Paul‍ metro area, including allegations⁤ of using children as bait.

One particularly alarming incident involves five-year-old Liam⁤ Conejo Ramos. ICE agents reportedly ⁢apprehended‍ liam in his Minneapolis driveway as he returned home ⁣from school.⁣ They allegedly⁢ walked him to the ⁤door and demanded to know who was inside. When his father answered, he was detained.⁤

According to ABC 7, an adult in the ⁤home ⁣pleaded with officers to leave Liam behind. Instead, ICE agents‌ reportedly took both⁤ the child and his father into custody.

While the ‍administration might ‍attempt to justify aggressive tactics when apprehending⁣ dangerous criminals, this case raises serious concerns.

Neighbors claim ⁤federal immigration‌ officers used Liam as “bait” by encouraging him to knock ‍on his own door.⁣ The⁢ Department of Homeland Security denies ‍these claims, stating Liam’s father,⁤ Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, fled on foot and ‍“abandoned” the ⁤boy in ⁣a running car, as reported by AP News.
