IBIZA, 3 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) – cancer patients in ibiza and Formentera will soon have access to a new surgical option at Can Misses Hospital, eliminating the need for approximately 30 referrals annually to the Son Espases University Hospital on Mallorca.
The Pitiusa Health Area has integrated Mohs surgery into its dermatology and Pathological Anatomy services. This specialized technique effectively removes skin cancers – notably basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas – with a high success rate.
Teams within the Dermatology and Pathological Anatomy Service have completed training in Mohs surgery and have already performed their first triumphant procedure at Can Misses. The precision of the technique maximizes the preservation of healthy tissue and substantially lowers the risk of cancer returning, according to health officials.
