I Just Want To Be Cool Honored with Göteborg Film Festival Prisma’s 2025 Honorary Award
Gothenburg, Sweden – pioneering Swedish YouTube creators Victor beer, Emil Ejdemo Beer, and Joel Adolphson, collectively known as I just Want To Be Cool, will receive the Göteborg Film Festival Prisma’s 2025 Honorary Award. The group will be celebrated at a special event at Cinema Draken on Thursday, October 23rd, featuring clips from their decade-plus career and personal reflections.
The award recognizes I Just Want To Be cool’s significant impact on digital storytelling, bridging the gap between online content creation and established film and television. Their comedic sketches and series have resonated with generations of young viewers, inspiring countless others to explore creative expression. This recognition arrives as the trio prepares for the theatrical release of their debut feature film, Skurkarnas skurk, this winter.
Founded in 2011, I Just Want To Be Cool emerged during a formative period for Swedish YouTube, quickly cultivating a dedicated fanbase. The festival acknowledges their “humor,creative storytelling,and tireless commitment” as instrumental in shaping a new digital narrative landscape.
