Hyundai Department Store Unifies Online Malls: The Hyundai.com & Hyundai Food Hall To Home Integration
Hyundai Department Store will launch “The Hyundai Hi,” a new premium online shopping platform integrating its existing online mall, The Hyundai Dotcom, and its food-focused online store, Hyundai Food Culture Town, on April 6, the company announced Monday.
The new platform aims to offer a curated e-commerce experience, featuring specialized shops within a shop, according to a statement released by Hyundai Department Store. The move represents a significant consolidation of the retailer’s online presence, streamlining operations and enhancing its digital offerings.
Hyundai Department Store plans to operate an “open beta” service from March 25th for 12 days prior to the official launch, soliciting user feedback to refine the platform. This phased rollout suggests a commitment to user experience and iterative improvement.
“The Hyundai Hi” is intended to extend the innovative spirit of the physical “The Hyundai” department store into the online realm, leveraging the company’s 50 years of retail experience, according to the company. The name itself, combining the first and last letters of “Hyundai,” signifies both a high-finish lifestyle proposition and a welcoming greeting to customers.
The platform’s main screen will prioritize lifestyle curation content over traditional sales promotions, discounts, or advertising. Hyundai Department Store intends to maximize product competitiveness through its established buying power and strengthen its role as a communication platform based on customer preferences, aiming to establish a differentiated premium e-commerce model.
