Auto Prices Surge, Fuel Savings Offer Relief to Argentine Drivers
BUENOS AIRES - Argentine consumers face sharply increased vehicle prices, but a growing segment of fuel-efficient models is offering a potential offset through notable savings at the pump, according to a recent survey of top-selling vehicles.
The Toyota Corolla now starts at $48,242,000 adn reaches $53,416,000. Other popular models reflect similar price hikes: the Haval H6 is priced between US$33,500 and US$35,500, while the Haval Jolion ranges from US$28,990 to US$30,990. the BMW X3 is available from US$91,900 to US$137,900, and the Fiat 600 is listed at US$34,500. BYD‘s Dolphin is offered at US$22,990 (GL) and US$23,990 (GS), with the Song Pro priced at US$34,990 (GL) and US$36,990 (GS). The Ford Maverick Lariat and Renault Arkana Esprit Alpine have not yet released new price lists.
Despite the escalating costs, fuel efficiency is emerging as a key factor for Argentine drivers. The Toyota Corolla cross and Toyota Corolla both achieve a combined consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers. The Fiat 600 follows closely at 4.8 liters. The BYD Song Pro declares 4.4 to 4.5 L per 100 km depending on the version. In contrast, the Baic BJ30 and Renault Arkana consume 5.8 liters, the Haval H6 5.2 liters, the Haval Jolion 5.5 liters, the Ford Maverick 5.1 liters,and the BMW X3 7.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
Compared to conventional gasoline vehicles consuming 8-10 liters per 100 kilometers in urban settings, these more efficient models could save drivers over 40 or 50 liters monthly, based on 1,200 kilometers of travel.This translates to considerable cost savings and a quicker return on investment.
