LINCOLN, NE – November 25, 2023 – The Nebraska high school football playoffs concluded this weekend, crowning state champions in all classes. Here’s a look at how the top 10 teams, as ranked in the final regular season Omaha World-Herald poll, performed:
Class A
- Gretna (12-1): The Dragons defeated Millard West 35-14 to claim the Class A state championship. Gretna’s dominant run game, led by running back Zane Flores, proved too much for the Wildcats.
- Millard West (11-2): The Wildcats fell to Gretna in the championship game, finishing as the class A runner-up.
- Bellevue West (9-4): Bellevue West lost to North Platte in the Class A semi-finals, ending their season.
- North Platte (10-3): North platte advanced to the Class A championship game but lost to Gretna 42-21.
- Lincoln East (8-3): Lincoln East was eliminated in the Class A quarter-finals.
Class B
- Bennington (12-1): Bennington secured the Class B state championship with a 28-14 victory over Skutt Catholic.Quarterback Cole hansen orchestrated a balanced offensive attack.
- Skutt Catholic (11-2): Skutt Catholic finished as the Class B runner-up after falling to Bennington.
- Aurora (11-2): Aurora lost to Bennington in the Class B semi-finals.

- Wahoo Neumann (11-1): Wahoo Neumann won the Class C-1 state championship, defeating Broken Bow 27-21.
- Broken Bow (11-2): Broken Bow finished as the class C-1 runner-up, falling short against Wahoo Neumann.
