Cileungsi, Bogor Regency – Minister of Housing and Settlement Area (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian today handed over the keys to a newly built home to the family of Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who was tragically killed during recent demonstrations. The handover took place at the Pesona Kahuripan Housing complex in Cileungsi, West Java.
The home, purchased by the government, represents a commitment to supporting the family impacted by the incident.Minister Ara presented the keys to Affan’s mother, Erlina, stating, “On behalf of the country I submit this key. Hopefully [it] can become a home, Mrs. Mother and family can be hear.” The gesture follows a pledge from Minister Ara to cover the cost of a home for the family, allowing them to choose the location and type of property.
the house boasts a building area of 30 square meters on a 60 square metre lot, featuring two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, family room, front and back gardens, and a carport.According to Angga Budi Kusuma, President Director of PT Pesona Kahuripan Group, the property is valued at Rp. 185 million.
Director General of Settlement Areas of the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas,Fitrah Nur,confirmed the handover would occur today,September 1,2025. Minister Ara had previously directed the Commissioner of the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), Heru Pudyo Nugroho, to expedite the financing process, emphasizing the urgency of providing suitable housing for the family.
