Hoppers: Disney & Pixar’s New Animated Comedy Adventure
Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers officially premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on February 23, 2026, before its wider release in the United States on March 6, 2026.
The animated science fiction comedy, directed by Daniel Chong and written by Jesse Andrews, centers on Mabel Tanaka, voiced by Piper Curda, who transfers her mind into a robotic beaver in an attempt to communicate with animals and protect their habitat. This action inadvertently sparks an uprising among the animal population.
The film features a voice cast including Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, and Dave Franco. Development on Hoppers spanned six years, beginning with Chong’s return to Pixar in December 2020 to work on a new original film. The project was officially announced in August 2024, with initial cast members Curda, Moynihan, and Hamm revealed at that time.
Hoppers was produced by Nicole Paradis Grindle. Jeremy Lasky and Ian Megibben served as cinematographers, with Axel Geddes handling editing duties. The film’s score was composed by Mark Mothersbaugh, and SZA contributed the end credits song, “Save the Day.”
As of its release, Hoppers has grossed $180 million worldwide, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of 2026. The film’s budget was $150 million.
The official trailer for Hoppers was released on November 20, 2025, showcasing a glimpse of the film’s action and humor, including a beaver sporting a crown.
