Honduras Elections: CNE Warns Against Unauthorized Exit Polls

Honduran​ Election‍ Official⁣ Condemns Unauthorized Release of Preliminary Results

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – november 30, 2025 ⁢- ‍A Honduran‍ election counselor, Ana Paola Hall, publicly ‍denounced ​the ​illegal publication of preliminary results and any data related to the electoral trend ⁢during⁢ Sunday’s general election. Hall emphasized that​ only the National Electoral Council (CNE) is authorized to disclose such data.

“Responsibility must be deducted from​ those who engage in these practices,” hall insisted.

She⁤ also‌ urged members of the Vote Receiving Boards (JRV) ‍to ⁤remain at‍ their posts until the conclusion of the voting process, including the​ closing of polls, vote ⁤counting, and‍ transmission⁤ of‌ official minutes and data.

“Take care ⁢of​ the popular⁤ will!”‍ Hall urged, stressing the⁣ importance of a ​transparent process and safeguarding each stage of the count to ensure the results accurately reflect the decision of hondurans.

Hall reported that ⁤as of noon on⁤ Sunday, November 30,⁢ 1,019,608 registered voters had participated ⁢in the ⁢election, describing ⁢the turnout as​ “high.”

More than 6.5 million Hondurans are voting ⁣to decide the‌ next president, with candidates including‍ Rixi Moncada (Libre), Nasry Asfura (National), Salvador Nasralla (Liberal), ​and​ Nelson Ávila (Christian Democracy). The winner​ will succeed Xiomara ​Castro on January 27, 2026. These are⁢ the twelfth ⁤elections held in Honduras since the return to​ constitutional order in 1980, taking place ‌under a state of exception in effect since December 2022.
