Mural Painting unveiled in Höör as Artist Expresses Gratitude to Community
Höör, Sweden – A new mural painting has been completed in Höör, created by artist Sebastian Rapid as a gesture of thanks to the municipality and its residents. The project, initiated during a meeting with Höör’s cultural strategist, has evolved into a collaborative effort involving local organizations and aims to enhance the city center’s public habitat with a new cultural expression.
Quick expressed his desire to show appreciation for the beauty he experienced in Höör,both in its natural surroundings and its community spirit. The artwork is designed to complement the existing architecture, incorporating colors from window arches and balconies, and drawing inspiration from the shape of dome windows to create a harmonious and natural aesthetic. “It is notable for me that the painting should not dominate, but harmonize and reinforce the nature of the place,” Quick stated.
The mural painting is a collaborative project between Höörs Municipality, Sebastian Quick, Region Skåne, Höörs Fastigheter, Flügger Colour in Höör and Renta. Sara Horvath, cultural strategist in Höörs municipality, views the project as a pilot initiative, hoping it will inspire future artistic endeavors and increased resident involvement – notably among children and young people – in shaping the urban environment. The municipality anticipates the mural will serve as a catalyst for further collaborations on the design and development of Höör’s public spaces.
