The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that it will be on heightened alert from March 31 to April 10 due to the upcoming Holy Week and start of summer vacation period. As part of its road safety campaign for the season, the LTO will hold a seminar for public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and conductors on March 30. The focus will be on ensuring the roadworthiness of PUVs, as well as inspecting land transportation terminals and providing assistance to motorists. Random drug tests will also be conducted among PUV drivers and conductors. LTO chief Jose Arturo Tugade has requested the public’s cooperation in obeying traffic laws to ensure smooth travel.
