Hofstra Pride Defeat Charleston Cougars: Cruz Davis Leads the Way | NCAA Basketball

Charleston, S.C. – Cruz Davis surpassed 1,000 career points at Hofstra University Thursday night, leading the Pride to a 66-62 victory over the College of Charleston Cougars. Davis scored 23 points, adding six rebounds and four assists in the Coastal Athletic Association matchup.

The win improves Hofstra’s record to 17-9 overall and 8-5 in conference play. Charleston fell to 16-10, with a 9-4 record in the CAA. The game was closely contested, with Hofstra securing the four-point win in the closing minutes.

German Plotnikov contributed significantly to Hofstra’s offense with 20 points, along with five rebounds and three blocked shots. James Patterson rounded out the Pride’s scoring with nine points.

For the Cougars, Chris Davis Jr. Led all scorers with 14 points. Colby Duggan similarly added 14 points, even as Chadlyn Traylor finished with 11.

Davis’ performance in the second half proved crucial, as he scored 15 of his 23 total points after halftime, helping Hofstra maintain its lead and ultimately secure the victory.
