Hockey Club Owner Fined for Vulgar Messages to Referee

Liptovský Mikuláš – Chairman of the Board of Hockey Club HK 32 Liptovský Mikuláš Róbert Ľupták received a fine of EUR 500 from the Senate for professional hockey (SPH DK SZĽH). In the match on the ice of HC Prešov from 26 September, he was guilty of several points of the disciplinary order.

SPH DK acknowledged that Ľupták committed proceedings after the match, which must be subsumed under the facts of Art. 44 point 44.1 Podboda 44.1.1 II. Section I. Head of the Special Part of the Disciplinary Rules of the SZĽH, by telephone to contact a member of the Commission of the SZĽH referees Petr Jonák and complained about the performance of the referees in the Prešov match – Liptovský Mikuláš. He addressed him a message with the text “As long as I am in hockey, I will fight against you.”

His action continued again with an attempt to contact Jonák again. He then sent him an SMS message with vulgar content. In addition to the description of the deed, the impetus also included screenshot screens of call history and screenshot of the SMS screen. Tomáš Hronský, the head referee of the Tipsport League, witnessed the whole situation, who traveled with Peter Jonak at that time.

SPH imposed a fine at the upper limit of the penalty. He took into account the continuing tendency of the disciplinary accused in the sense that it was not one call or one message, but more extensive harassment and also took into account the fact that in the past he was already disciplinary accused for similar offensive action.
