Heyssen Apology Demanded After Sharing Anti-China Content | Tight-Pack Guy
Chinese internet celebrity “紧凑哥” (Jin Cou Ge), whose image was featured in a racially insensitive post by Real Madrid defender Sergio Herreras, has publicly demanded an apology from the player. A video released today by “紧凑哥” directly addresses Herreras, stating, “Real Madrid’s Herreras, apologize to me personally! I hope you respond to me, Real Madrid’s Herreras, it’s not okay to bully Chinese people just since we aren’t Spanish.”
The call for an apology follows Herreras’s now-deleted Instagram post on the evening of February 21st, which included a multi-image post containing a picture of “紧凑哥.” The post included a comment suggesting the use of a toothpick to cover “his” eyes, widely interpreted as a racist remark. “紧凑哥” gained popularity on Chinese short-video platforms for his distinctive appearance and personal style.
According to reports, the original image of “紧凑哥” was taken from Chinese social media and incorporated into the offensive post by an overseas account. The incident has sparked significant backlash online, with fans flooding “紧凑哥’s” livestream with messages and occupying the top spots on his gifting leaderboard with the username “皇马后卫赫伊森” (Real Madrid defender Herreras). Some commenters have even suggested he wear a Real Madrid jersey during his broadcasts.
Whereas Herreras deleted the post, he initially attributed the sharing to an accidental “mis-touch,” according to reports. Neither Herreras nor Real Madrid have issued a formal statement addressing the controversy, a response that contrasts with the club’s recent public stance against racism, as noted by observers. As of February 22nd, Herreras had not publicly apologized.
The video released by “紧凑哥” has already garnered 27,000 likes and over 2,500 comments. He stated in the video, “If you don’t apologize to me personally, this matter will not be resolved, Real Madrid’s Herreras. I don’t desire to say much more, I just hope you apologize to me personally, okay?”
