The tournament’s final match on September 7th saw Devos secure his third consecutive Paralympic gold medal, defeating France’s Lucas Didier 3-0 in the Class 9 Men’s Singles final. This victory wasn’t merely a win; it was the culmination of nearly a decade of unbroken dominance, with Devos remaining undefeated in para table tennis since 2015. he had also held the world No.1 ranking since July 2017.
“I feel amazing, of course,” Devos reflected promptly after his win. “To be a three-time Paralympic champion is an amazing achievement. The amount of pressure on my shoulders for the last few days was big, but of course you want to defend your title. for the last three weeks I didn’t sleep at all,it’s just pressure.”
