DAYTONA BEACH, FL ⁣- The‌ Ohio⁤ Dominican Panthers⁢ volleyball team split its pair of matches‍ in Florida this weekend, overcoming ⁢a tough challenge from Maryville ⁢University in a five-set thriller before falling in straight sets to UPR-Mayaguez.⁣ The results mark a mixed start to the ‌Panthers’ non-conference schedule⁢ as⁣ they prepare for⁤ a three-match road trip and ⁣the start of conference‍ play.

The‍ Maryville match saw the Panthers rally‍ from a set down to force a decisive fifth set, ultimately prevailing 15-11. This hard-fought victory demonstrates the ‌team’s resilience and ability to perform under pressure, qualities that will be ‌crucial ​as they navigate a challenging schedule. The loss ⁢to UPR-Mayaguez,while a‍ setback,provides valuable experience against a ​strong⁢ opponent.
