Hearts Injury News: Ageu, Findlay & Gordon Updates | Scottish Premiership

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Hearts will be without key players for a significant portion of the remainder of the Scottish Premiership season, following an update from head coach Derek McInnes on Wednesday. Record signing Eduardo Ageu will miss the rest of the season due to an unspecified injury, while defender Stuart Findlay is expected to be sidelined for six weeks.

The injuries represent a blow to the league leaders, with Findlay having started every league game at centre-back this season. McInnes also confirmed that goalkeeper Craig Gordon’s shoulder injury will prevent him from participating in the upcoming Scotland camp, where the national team is scheduled to play friendlies against Japan and Ivory Coast in March.

While the exact nature of Gordon’s shoulder problem has not been disclosed, the injury casts doubt on his availability for crucial upcoming matches for both Hearts and the national team. The club has not yet provided a timeline for Gordon’s return to fitness beyond his absence from the March internationals.

Ageu’s season-ending injury is particularly concerning given his status as the club’s record signing. The length of Findlay’s absence, six weeks, will require Hearts to adjust their defensive lineup during a critical phase of the season.
