Health Canada Recall: Retractable Baby Gates – Entrapment Hazard
Health Canada has issued a recall for Vevor retractable baby gates due to a potential entrapment hazard, the agency announced Friday. The gates, sold between November 2023 and March 2026, can allow a child’s torso to pass through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury.
The recall affects models YJ-3355, YJ-3371, and YJ-33110, available in black, grey, and white. The gates range in height to 34.2 inches (87cm) and can extend up to 60 inches (152cm), 76.8 inches (193cm), or 116 inches (295cm) in width, depending on the model. “Vevor” is printed on a label located on the corner post of the gate, and the model number can be found on the product packaging and in the user manual.
Approximately 1,660 of the gates were sold in Canada, according to Health Canada. As of March 13, 2026, the company, MARIFEL LTD, has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the recalled gates in Canada.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled gates and contact MARIFEL LTD for a full refund. The company is also requesting that consumers destroy the gate by cutting through the mesh and submit a photograph of the damaged gate to [email protected] as proof of destruction.
Consumers can contact MARIFEL LTD by telephone at 855-599-6320 or via email at [email protected] for further information. The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits the redistribution, sale, or donation of recalled products within Canada.
