“Masters of the Universe” Film reveals Unexpected Origin Story for He-Man
A newly released synopsis for Amazon MGM’s live-action “Masters of the Universe” film details a surprising backstory for Prince Adam, revealing a childhood accident left him stranded in space. The film, slated for release in July next year, appears to be diverging from traditional origin stories, focusing on more than just physical power in Adam’s journey to becoming He-Man.
Initial reports following casting announcements indicated a 10-year-old Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) arrived on Earth via a crashed spaceship, separated from his Power Sword – the key to his home world of Eternia. The new synopsis, published by He-Mania.com, clarifies this narrative: “As a child, Prince Adam is left stranded in space in an accident; he loses his powerful sword and years later, upon returning to Eternia, he discovers that becoming He-Man depends not only on physical strength, but also on accepting fate, believing in friendship, and courage in the face of darkness.”
This suggests the film will explore a more nuanced transformation for the iconic hero, emphasizing internal qualities alongside physical prowess. The synopsis arrives alongside news that Tim Sheridan, writer and consulting producer for the Netflix animated series “Masters of the universe: Revelation” and “Revolution,” is currently developing a separate, unannounced He-Man project.
