The CGIL union of Rome and Lazio has expressed its deep outrage and sorrow over the fatality. They are urgently requesting a swift clarification of the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The union also highlighted a concerning trend in workplace safety within the Lazio region. In the first five months of this year, there were 17,925 reported workplace accidents, a 3.75% increase compared to the previous year. Tragically, 29 fatal accidents have occurred during this period.

This incident occurs amidst ongoing concerns about worker safety across Italy. According to the Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL), there were 1,006 fatal workplace accidents recorded in 2022, underscoring the persistent risks faced by many employees.
