Hazel Edna Rogers Brown, 82, Obituary – Billings, Montana

Hazel Edna Rogers Brown, ‍age 82, passed away on December 18, 2025, ‍at Tender Nest Memory Care in⁢ Billings, Montana, surrounded by loved ones. Born on ⁢February⁣ 14, 1943, in Hardin, Montana,‍ Hazel lived a full life dedicated to family, faith, and community.

Hazel‍ was the daughter of William and ‍Edna (Butts) Rogers. She graduated from Hardin High School⁣ in 1961 and whent on to earn ‍a teaching degree from Eastern Montana College (now ‍Montana State University billings). She dedicated over‍ 30 ‍years to education, primarily teaching elementary school in Billings. Many former students remember her kindness, patience, and ability to make learning‍ fun.

She married Dale Brown ⁤on June 12, 1965, in Hardin. Together,⁢ they built a life in Billings, raising two children, David and susan. Dale preceded her in death on November 8, 2018. Hazel found solace in her faith and was an active ‍member of First Presbyterian Church in Billings for over 50 years, ⁣participating in various church⁢ activities and volunteer work.

Hazel enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending⁣ time with her grandchildren. She ⁣was known for her tasty pies and her warm hospitality. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Hazel⁢ is survived by her son,⁤ David⁤ (lisa) Brown ‍of⁤ Billings; ‍her⁣ daughter, ‍susan (Mark) ⁢Johnson of Bozeman; and five grandchildren: Emily, Sarah, Michael, Matthew, and Abigail.She is also survived by her sister, Carol (Larry) Smith of Billings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First presbyterian Church in Billings on January 10, 2026, ⁢at 11:00 AM.In⁢ lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be⁤ made to First Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association ‍ https://www.alz.org/.
