Harry Styles has been incredibly busy. He’s now releasing a new tour, album, and single, “Aperture.”
What fueled his process? Expanding his friendships and hitting the dance floor.
“It came at a time when I was starting to go out dancing a lot more,” Styles explained to BBC Radio 1. “I was hearing different types of music and going to parties with friends.”
These experiences coincided with his producer experimenting with modular synths. Styles didn’t just see a social life; he found a perfect collision of influences. He was both going out and writing music, experimenting on the piano. He was really diving in.
“If you’re a touring musician… your life slowly becomes more isolated,” Styles told John Mayer on SiriusXM. “Your trusted circle shrinks, like it does as people grow up.”
“For me, the last couple of years were about opening back up.”
The first single from “Kiss All the Time. Disco, occasionally” – “Aperture” – was actually recorded last. The track clocks in at 5 minutes and 11 seconds.
