A Mazda RX-7 from teh 2006 film “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” has set a new record as the most expensive car ever sold from the franchise, fetching a staggering $700,000 at auction.
the iconic vehicle, famously driven by the character han Lue in the movie, underwent a meaningful restoration and modification by Veilside, a renowned Japanese tuning company. Under the hood, the RX-7 boasts a twin-rotor turbocharged engine, meticulously rebuilt by legendary tuner RE-Amemiya. While the engine is tuned to a near-stock specification, it produces approximately 280 horsepower, contributing to the car’s extraordinary power-to-weight ratio of just over 1,050kg.
With 66,785 miles on the odometer,the RX-7 comes with documentation verifying its role in the film. True to the “Fast and Furious” spirit,the car features a high-quality sound system,including twin amplifiers and multiple loudspeakers. A polished NOS (Nitrous Oxide System) bottle is also present, though it remains disconnected. The interior has been upgraded with Veilside’s racing bucket seats, crafted with composite shells, and a striking combination of carbon fiber, aluminum, velour, vinyl, and chrome trim.
A custom-made stainless steel prop has been installed to support the rear hatch, allowing the sound system to be showcased. the vehicle is equipped with a 24/7 live monitoring vehicle tracker. Meticulously stored in dry conditions,the RX-7 is road-legal in the United Kingdom.
