Hannah Kate Weight Loss: Before & After Transformation with Weight-Loss Jabs
Hannah Kate, a 32-year-aged woman from Bournemouth, Dorset, has reported significant improvements in her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) symptoms after using the weight-loss medication Mounjaro, despite the drug not being licensed for PCOS treatment by the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK.
Kate began taking Mounjaro in May 2024, after years of struggling with weight loss related to her PCOS diagnosis. She has spent approximately £4,000 on the medication, purchasing it through a licensed provider. Prior to starting Mounjaro, Kate was a size 26 and found it challenging to locate clothes that fit. She has since lost nearly eight stone (50kg), now fitting into a size 16-18.
“It made me feel so self-conscious given that I could never find anything in clothes shops that fit me,” Kate told the BBC. “The fact that I can now go into pretty much any shop and buy something really is the best feeling.”
PCOS is a hormonal disorder affecting up to one in ten women in the UK, characterized by painful and irregular periods. Experts suggest that weight-loss jabs like Mounjaro may be beneficial for individuals with PCOS due to their ability to improve insulin resistance, a key factor in the condition’s symptoms. However, current NHS recommendations for managing PCOS focus on lifestyle changes and other medications.
While Kate has experienced side effects from Mounjaro, she describes the boost to her confidence as “life-changing.” She manages the side effects by adjusting her diet, which she says has been helpful. Despite the weight loss, Kate noted she hasn’t experienced significant appetite suppression, except at higher doses of the medication, where insulin resistance was better controlled.
If Kate had not pursued Mounjaro, she would have remained on the NHS tier three weight management programme and was similarly prescribed Metformin by the NHS. Metformin is sometimes used “off-label” to encourage fertility and control symptoms in women with PCOS due to the condition’s frequent association with insulin resistance, although Mounjaro is not currently licensed for PCOS treatment in the UK.
A separate case, reported in November 2025, involved Hannah Tynan, a 32-year-old mother who lost nine stone with the help of Mounjaro. Tynan had previously weighed 18st 12lb and wore a size 20, but now weighs 9st 13lb and fits into a size 8. She had previously been mistaken for being pregnant due to her weight distribution.
