Hamilton Eyes Ferrari Turnaround After Disappointing 2024 Season
Lusail,Qatar – Lewis Hamilton expressed frustration with his first season at Ferrari, acknowledging it has fallen short of expectations as he pursues a record-breaking eighth Formula 1 drivers’ title. Despite the challenges, the 40-year-old remains committed to the team and optimistic about future improvements, particularly with sweeping rule changes on the horizon.
Hamilton joined Ferrari with the ambition of challenging for championships, but the 2024 season proved to be an “anti-climax.” He voiced his dissatisfaction with the current technical regulations, stating they don’t align with his driving style.
Looking ahead,Hamilton is encouraged by the upcoming changes to both chassis and engine regulations for the next season. The new engine rules will emphasize the hybrid component of the power unit, while the aerodynamic ideology will revert to designs similar to those Hamilton successfully utilized between 2007 and 2021.
“We’ll analyze the season and there’s lots of improvements we need to make collectively,” Hamilton said. “But no-one’s under any illusion in the team that we will have to play our part and I beleive that we can.” He added,”So I’m hoping we implement and make those changes along with hopefully a better package next year.”
Despite the current struggles, Hamilton affirmed his decision to join Ferrari, stating, ”I don’t regret the decision I made joining the team. I know it takes time to build and grow within an organisation, and I expected that, so yes.”
Tho, he emphasized the need for meaningful work over the winter to enhance Ferrari’s trackside operations. The team will be focused on maximizing the potential of the new regulations and delivering a more competitive car for the 2025 season.
