“Haikyu!!” Characters Join Cashless Revolution with new ”Charape!” Keychains
TOKYO - November 4, 2024 – CyberAgent Co.,Ltd. today announced the launch of “Charape!” – a coin-type electronic money keychain featuring popular characters from the hit anime series “Haikyu!!”. Reservations began today, offering fans a new way to integrate their favorite volleyball players into everyday life.
“Charape!” is compatible with “coin type Edy,” enabling cashless payments at convenience stores and other participating locations. the release coincides with continued momentum for the “Haikyu!!” franchise, which has exceeded 70 million copies in circulation with its original manga by Haruichi Furudate.
The anime adaptation, which ran from 2014 to 2020, captivated audiences in Japan and internationally. The 2024 film, “Haikyu!! Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump,” grossed over 20 billion yen worldwide and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. Upcoming projects include the sequel film, “Haikyu!! the Movie VS little Titan,” and the special anime, “Haikyuu!! Where the Monsters Go,” promising further dramatic showdowns between high school volleyball teams.
