Andrade intends for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to potentially serve as her final competition, but remains open to continuing if circumstances-specifically, the need for competitors on any apparatus and her physical capacity-dictate otherwise. This proclamation provides insight into the career trajectory of one of the sport’s most prominent figures and signals a strategic approach to longevity in a physically taxing discipline.
“It was the perfect year to take care of my body,” Andrade stated, emphasizing the importance of rest and rehabilitation. She acknowledged the possibility of reevaluating her retirement plans,adding,”if in the future there’s no one to perform on an apparatus – any apparatus – and I feel that my body can deliver,I’ll do it.” However, she also conceded, ”But if there’s no one and I feel that my body can’t take it, then I won’t.”
Beyond her athletic ambitions, andrade is already considering her future beyond the sport. She expressed a desire to pursue further education and explore opportunities as a public speaker. “I wont to study more. I’d really like to be a speaker,” Andrade said. “I enjoy telling my story, and I think I learn a lot - and people learn a little from me too. I have my dreams and plans,but I’ll keep them to myself for now.”
