The Guardians have historically approached free agency conservatively, likened to a careful maneuver by a truck driver delivering fragile cargo. this strategy isn’t expected‌ to change this winter, but the team recognizes the fortunate circumstances that led to their division title⁢ and the necessity of⁢ addressing offensive‌ deficiencies.

For the last two years, the Guardians have⁤ begun their offseason by ⁢signing free agent catcher Austin Hedges to a⁤ one-year,$4 million contract.
