Guanajuato Health System Provides Care to Over 1,276 Individuals with Social Security in First Year of “new Start”
guanajuato, Gto. – The Guanajuato state Health Services (SSG) has bolstered medical care access across all 46 municipalities, providing surgical procedures to over 1,276 individuals with existing IMSS or ISSSTE social security coverage in the past year, according to state health officials. This initiative is part of a broader effort to consolidate the state’s healthcare autonomy and response capacity under the “New Start” program.
The SSG maintains a comprehensive network of 506 health centers, alongside 19 community hospitals, 16 general hospitals, and 7 specialized facilities, supplemented by mobile units. This infrastructure allows the state to serve a population exceeding 3 million residents who lack social security, while also extending support to those already covered by other systems.”Therefore, it maintains the operation of its hospitals, clinics and personal, which allows consolidating autonomy and response capacity,” stated the state head of health.
Beyond the 1,276 surgeries performed for IMSS/ISSSTE beneficiaries in the last year, an additional 530+ surgical procedures have been completed for these patients in the current year to date. the Ministry of Health’s commitment to universal access ensures continued care and strengthens the state’s overall healthcare resilience.
