GTA 5 Actor Auditioned for 60 GTA 6 Roles Before Rockstar’s Decision
Actor Ned Luke, known for voicing Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, auditioned for roughly 60 distinct roles in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI before developers ultimately went in a different direction for the project, according to recent statements from the performer. Luke revealed the extensive casting process during a public discussion, detailing how he tried out for dozens of minor characters in Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated sequel.
Despite his prominent history with the franchise, Luke did not secure a part among the massive roster of characters being assembled for the new title. Rockstar Games maintained a strict casting separation between its previous installment and the new fictional setting of Leonida, leaving the veteran voice actor off the final character sheet.
The extensive audition process highlights the scale of production for the open-world sequel, which requires hundreds of performers to populate its simulated environment. Luke’s prior work as one of the three primary protagonists in the 2013 release did not grant automatic placement in the subsequent title, as developers evaluated fresh talent and specific voice matches for the new narrative.
Rockstar Games has not yet announced the final principal voice cast for Grand Theft Auto VI, nor has the studio commented on specific audition logs or casting calls. The company has maintained tight control over production details ahead of the game’s scheduled launch window.
