GoPro Mission 1: 8K Compact Cinema Camera
GoPro has launched the MISSION 1, a latest line of compact cinema cameras designed for professional filmmakers, creators and enthusiasts.
The MISSION 1 series features a 1-inch sensor capable of 50MP stills and 8K video recording. The hardware is positioned as a professional-grade alternative to the company’s traditional action camera lineup, focusing on cinematic output in a minor form factor.
Within the new line, the MISSION 1 Pro provides 8K 60p video recording and supports interchangeable lenses via a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mount. The system too includes 4K Open Gate recording capabilities, allowing for greater flexibility in post-production framing.
This shift toward cinema-grade equipment occurs alongside separate reports indicating that the GoPro Hero 14 Black has appeared for the first time, suggesting further upgrades to the company’s standard action camera range.
The MISSION 1 Pro is currently marketed as a pocket-sized cinema camera capable of high-resolution capture and lens versatility.
