Goose’s Viva El Gonzo Debut: A Musical Oasis in Mexico

San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico – Goose recently concluded its inaugural Viva El Gonzo event at El Ganzo Oasis, a three-day festival featuring a diverse lineup of artists. Teh event showcased not only Goose but also performances by Dawes, The War On Drugs, LP Giobbi, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Sierra Hull, Dogs In A Pile, Eggy, and Mihali.

Acoustic Afternoon and Dylan Cover

Goose’s final day at Viva El Gonzo included three sets,starting with an acoustic performance in the afternoon. The band opened with a cover of John Philips’ Me & My Uncle, followed by a mix of original songs and covers. A notable moment was the band’s second-ever performance of Dim Lights, a Rick Mitarotonda tune previously played by Orebolo.

Sierra Hull and her group joined Goose for two songs,marking the band’s first-ever rendition of Bob Dylan’s Don’t Think Twice,It’s Alright and The Wood Brothers’ Atlas.

The second set featured an extended, seamless sequence, transitioning from Feel it Now into Animal, followed by the premiere of Dustin Hoffman, then 726 and Dripfield. The set concluded with an apt performance of how it Ends, followed by a Thatch encore.

Guest Appearances

Earlier in the day, Rick Mitarotonda joined Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on Poseidon and later participated in the El Ganzo collective’s late-night performance, showcasing the collaborative spirit of the festival.
